The GP500 is a great choice for those who are looking for a low-cost projector with impressive performance and features. Its brightness and contrast are excellent. It is able to display 3D pictures, but it is not recommended for dark areas. It comes with a variety of useful and convenient features, including autofocus and keystone correction. The GP500 has a low input lag and is very quiet. It is an excellent choice for home theaters.
GP500 Gold
The GP500 Gold is an excellent choice for those looking for a stylish and reliable mobility scooter. It offers a wide range, comfortable seat and a long battery life. It also features a phone holder and bottle holder. It takes around 14 hours to fully charge the battery.
This projector has very good grayscale OOTB, with its smallest DeltaE errors being 2.3 (which is barely noticeable to trained eyes). It also showed subtle variations in color, for instance when Adam struck the light stick against the ground.
Other features include 3D support, keystone correction and autofocus. These features make it easier to install and setup. It also supports the normal BenQ setup options. It does not support the vertical focus or lens shift. It does have a digital image warping feature that can aid in less-than-ideal installations, but this does impact the image quality.
GP500 Platinum
The GP500 comes with a number of features that are convenient and high-quality that are common, but some not so common like Keystone and Corner Fit, which digitally warps the image for poor installation, a Toslink audio out jack, which turns off the built-in speaker when headphones or another speaker system are plugged in and Bluetooth that allows the GP500 to function wirelessly as a receiver for music. 3D playback is also supported.
Subjectively, I found that the GP500 had very accurate grayscale OOTB. I observed a DeltaE value of 2.3, which is less than the amount that is visible to the naked eye. This is pretty good. The Dynamic Contrast function was a great help in bringing depth to Life of Pi's limited night scenes. The color display was superb. Avatar was also extremely impressive.
GP500 Black
The GP500 is Pinlock Max Vision-ready and tear-off-ready as well as opening tabs on both sides of the shield. It has an automatic shield lock to prevent it from opening during riding (or an accident). It has a double-d ring secureer on the rear of the helmet and it's tool-free.
The auto-focus function was very swift and worked flawlessly - producing clean clear images that had lots of distinct shades. It did struggle with the darker scenes in Life of Pi, but otherwise, it gave a cinematic feel.
There are no race rep graphics for the GP500 but you can buy Airoh Sectors and Cosmos with a black finish. You can also get it with Rockstar Drive and Check graphics to give it a more track focused appearance.
GP500 White
This scooter is equipped with a lithium battery that is of the highest quality. It can travel a long distance before needing to be recharged. The battery can easily be removed to charge remotely. This model also has robust puncture-proof tyres that can prevent flats when out and about.
Other notable features include 3D playback, which can be activated via the built-in DLP-Link glasses. It's nice to see that this projector is still able to support this feature considering some brands have dropped it recently.
The GP500 White also has several common, but not so common quality-of-life features such as Keystone and Corner Fit (which is digital image warping). These features are useful for less-than ideal installations as they allow you to display a flat picture. However, they can affect image quality. This is a critical aspect to take into consideration. The GP500 produced very clear and distinct colors, and also had a great grayscale performance OOTB.
